Music when you are Young
If you would like to play the Piano ...
For Piano, you need to be about five years old or more. Ideally, you should have started school. If I start to teach you, then you will come to my house and you will bring a parent along with you, who will stay in the lesson. That is much better and your parent can take notes and help you out each day between lessons.   Guitar: If you would like to learn the guitar then I teach a traditional classical style. I prefer to start new guitarists from the beginning.
I will show you how to play, a little each lesson. You need to practise in between the lessons with your parent helping you.

Mostly, you should have a lesson each week and it will last about half an hour OR if you are very young, you might prefer to come for 15 minutes twice a week.

If you would like to play Clarinet or Saxophone ...
Music lessons are much better when you visit me, at my house but, if you can't visit me then I might visit you at your house - it depends on where you live and what lesson times you are hoping for. I might charge a bit more for visiting because of travelling time. For Clarinet or Saxophone, you need to have big enough hands to reach the keys on your instrument. This means that you need to be need to be about eight years old to start. If you are a bit younger and madly keen, then you can start earlier but you will need a smaller instrument and they are often quite expensive.

I will show you how to play, a little each lesson. You need to practise in between the lessons with your parent helping you. With music, you really do need to practise just about every day if you want to do really well.
Mostly, you should have a lesson each week and it will last about half an hour. At the moment, lessons cost £ 15 for half an hour. If you eventually get to Grade Six standard, then you may want to have a longer lesson then.
Whatever instrument you would like to learn, you do need to have one of your own so that you can practise at home. If you are planning to buy one, then talk to me and I will be able to give you some advice.
